As a professional children’s book editor, I charge standard industry rates. My fees are comparable to those of editors with a similar level of experience and expertise. All prices are in Australian dollars.

Manuscript assessments

Picture books up to 1,000 words: $450

Junior fiction up to 12,000 words: $650

Middle grade/YA up to 45,000 words: $800

Coaching sessions

45-minute session: $95

If the session is for discussing a picture book or junior fiction manuscript, this rate includes any time taken for me to pre-read your work. For middle grade or YA, I charge an additional one-time reading fee of between $50 and $100, depending on word count.

Developmental editing or copyediting

Please ask me for a fixed quote based on your particular manuscript. If I’ve already completed an assessment on your work, I’d be happy to offer a reduced fee.

Proofreading

Please ask me for a fixed quote based on your particular manuscript. For picture books, please send the whole manuscript. For other works, please send a section from the middle of your manuscript.

Ghostwriting

While ghostwriting isn't strictly an editing service, I will consider writing your children's book for you for a flat fee. Please contact me for more information.
